Comparison
dronelist vs Dronedesk
Both are built for drone operators, and they solve different halves of the job. Dronedesk runs the flight: planning, risk assessments, logs, job packs, then invoices. dronelist runs the money conversation that happens before the flight, and stops when the client accepts.
Pick Dronedesk when
Dronedesk is built for operators whose paperwork burden is the flight itself: risk assessments, checklists, flight logs and job packs, through to an invoice.
- You need flight logging, and you want DJI logs synced automatically.
- Risk assessments and checklists are what your clients or your regulator ask to see.
- You want to raise invoices in the same tool that plans the flight.
- You run a team and need per-seat access with shared job records.
Pick dronelist when
dronelist is a CRM for one operator. It runs the pipeline up to an accepted proposal, and shows the margin on a quote before it goes out.
- You want the margin on a quote before you send it, not after the job.
- Your problem is winning work, not documenting it.
- You want a client to accept a proposal in the browser, with no login.
- You want to read your pipeline from Claude or ChatGPT over MCP.

Questions
Before you choose.
What operators ask before they switch, or decide not to.
-
Only for part of the job. If you use Dronedesk mainly to quote clients and track who owes you an answer, dronelist covers that and adds margin on every quote. If you use it for flight logs, risk assessments or invoices, dronelist does not replace it, because it does not do those things.
-
Yes, and some operators will want to. dronelist ends at the accepted proposal, which is roughly where a flight-operations tool starts. There is no direct integration between them today.
-
No. It keeps equipment records with registration-expiry reminders, but it does not log flights or generate risk assessments. That is a deliberate scope decision, not a roadmap gap.
-
dronelist has a free plan with no card and Pro at $20 a month. Dronedesk publishes four tiers starting with Startup, which is capped at three jobs a month. Check their pricing page for current numbers before you decide on price.
