Changelog
What's New
All the latest updates and improvements to dronelist.io.
Operating Area on Public Profiles
Public pilot and company profiles now show an Operating Area map — your home base marked on a map with a circle tracing how far you’re willing to travel for work. Clients browsing the directory can confirm geographic fit at a glance instead of puzzling over a city name.
Set your home base under Profile · Location on the business profile page, and the radius under Professional Info (pilots) or the new Service Area section (companies). The map preview updates live as you change the radius.
Unified Provider Cards and Three-Way Onboarding
Signup now starts with a clear choice: independent freelancer, starting a drone company, or joining an existing company. Your answer shapes how you appear in the directory. Freelancers show up as pilot cards, agencies show up as company cards, and teammates of an agency surface via the company’s team page without competing as their own listing.
The directory at
/hirenow mixes both kinds of listings with a single card design. Visitors evaluate providers on the same shape — skills, services, location, verified status — whether the operator is a solo pilot or a multi-member agency. Both pilots and companies share the same URL space at/hire/[identifier], and a new “Operates under [Company]” strip appears on a pilot’s page when they belong to a brand.Pilot detail pages now show the same sections as company pages: services, credentials, skills, equipment, and insurance — so a solo operator’s page is as complete as an agency’s. Joining an existing company is a real first-class path now: enter the invite code on the identity step and you land directly on the team.
Pilot-First Identity and Hybrid Listing Surfaces
You now control three independent listing surfaces from a single Visibility & Discovery tab on your business profile. Toggle your Public Pilot Profile to appear at
/find-pilots/your-username, enable Pro Network Profile to show up to other registered pilots, and flip Company Page Listing to publish a branded company page at/companies/your-slug. Solo operators stay pilot-first by default; agencies can lead with the company page without losing their pilot identity. The old
/rosterbecame the Pro Network — a cleaner name for the authenticated directory where dronelist members find collaborators and subcontractors. Existing links keep working through a permanent 301.Invited team collaborators can now appear on a company’s team page and in the Pro Network without accidentally getting treated as an independent business. When they’re ready to publish their own public pilot profile or company page, they’re nudged to create their own account — no more ambiguity about who owns what.
Profile Visibility Controls and Search Preview
Your business profile now has a dedicated Settings tab where you can control exactly how your profile appears in the public directory. You can set visibility per-section — choose what’s public, what’s hidden, and what’s only shown to logged-in users.
A new search preview lets you see exactly how your profile will appear in Google before anyone finds it. When you make your profile public, search engines are notified automatically so your listing gets indexed without waiting around.
Redesigned Client Portal
The client portal — the link you share with clients to give them visibility into their work — has been fully redesigned.
Your client’s portal homepage now shows a clear overview of active proposals, ongoing projects, and outstanding invoices, all in one place. The navigation is cleaner, and the layout matches the same design system as the rest of the app. Clients without an account will also see a prompt to create one so they can stay connected beyond just viewing files.
Public Pilot Directory
Potential clients can now browse and filter drone pilots at dronelist.io/hire. The directory supports advanced filtering by location, service type, and certifications — each pilot has a detailed public profile page with their services, equipment, and portfolio.
If your profile is set to public, you’re automatically listed and discoverable by anyone searching for drone services. No extra steps needed.
Fresh Look Across the Platform
You’ll notice a refreshed visual design across the entire platform — updated colors, typography, and component styles for a more polished, modern experience.
The business profile editor has also been rebuilt with a cleaner layout, modular sections, and consolidated visibility settings so you can manage your public presence in fewer clicks.
Vanity Profile URLs
Your profile is now available at a clean, memorable URL like
dronelist.io/hire/your-username. Set your username in profile settings and share a link that clients will actually remember.Old profile links redirect automatically, so nothing breaks.
Price-First Service Tiers
Service tiers now lead with price instead of feature lists. Each tier includes specific deliverables and effort items, so clients immediately see what they get at each price point.
The service management UI has been updated to make editing tiers faster and clearer — add deliverables, set effort breakdowns, and adjust pricing all from one place.
Free Drone Business Startup Planner
You can now plan your drone business from scratch with our guided startup planner. Walk through a step-by-step process to pick your service categories, estimate startup costs, and build a launch roadmap tailored to your market.
When you’re done, export the finished plan as a PDF to share with partners or lenders. No signup required — it’s completely free at dronelist.io/tools/drone-startup-planner.
Free Drone Service Pricing Calculator
You can now calculate competitive rates for any drone service at dronelist.io/tools/drone-pricing-calculator. Pick your service type, region, experience level, and deliverables — your recommended hourly, daily, and per-project rates update instantly.
The calculator covers 13 service types across 6 categories (photography, videography, inspection, surveying, agriculture, construction), 8 regions with local currency support, and factors like rush jobs, travel distance, and deliverable complexity. An annual earnings projection shows what your rate means at different utilization levels, and a goal planner tells you how many jobs you need to hit your income target.
All rates are based on 2026 industry benchmark data. No signup required — it’s completely free.
Your Layout, Remembered
Your UI customizations now stick around between sessions. Hide or show columns in any data table, collapse a sidebar — it all stays exactly the way you left it when you come back.
This applies to column visibility across all tables (CRM, expenses, invoicing, projects, and more) as well as the record and detail sidebars. No settings page required — just adjust your layout and it’s remembered automatically.
AI Receipt Scanner
You can now scan receipts when creating or editing expenses. Upload a photo of any receipt — JPEG, PNG, or PDF — and hit Scan Receipt. Our Vision AI reads the receipt and auto-fills the merchant name, amount, date, and expense category for you.
The scanner works in both the create and edit expense dialogs. In edit mode, it only fills empty fields so it won’t overwrite data you’ve already entered. If the AI isn’t confident about a result, you’ll see a warning so you know to double-check before saving.
This is the first AI-powered feature on the platform, designed to save you time on the tedious parts of expense tracking so you can focus on flying.
Setup Guide
You’ll now see a Setup guide in your sidebar after signing up. It walks you through the essential first steps — setting up your business profile, adding equipment, creating your first client, and configuring your services and pricing.
The guide tracks your progress with a visual ring indicator and shows your next step at a glance. Expand it to see all tasks, or collapse it to focus on what’s next. Once you’ve completed everything, it disappears automatically. No dismissing, no nagging — just a clear path to getting your workspace ready.
Data Export
You can now export your personal and organization data at any time. Choose from categories — personal data, organization info, and business operations — select your format (JSON or CSV), and download everything as a ZIP file.
Your data is yours. This feature ensures you can always take it with you.
