Business Profile

Your Business Profile is your professional identity on dronelist.io. It controls how you appear in the pilot directory, what information is visible to others, and how clients can find and evaluate you. Everything is managed from one page with a sidebar for quick edits and tabs for detailed sections.

Profile sections

The Business Profile page uses a sidebar + tabs layout. The sidebar lets you edit core identity fields with autosave — changes are saved as you type. The main area has five tabs:
TabWhat it covers
OverviewProfile completeness score, highlight cards, directory preview, and read-only summaries of your services and equipment
LinksSocial media and website links (LinkedIn, X, GitHub, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, personal website)
CredentialsProfessional licenses, certificates, waivers, and authorizations
InsuranceInsurance policies with coverage details and expiration tracking
AvailabilityWorking hours, timezone, booking preferences, and Google Calendar integration

Profile completeness

The Overview tab shows a completeness score based on 10 fields. Each completed field adds 10% to your score:
FieldWhat counts
Profile photoUpload an avatar
HeadlineA short professional title
BioA description of your experience and specialties
LocationCity-level location set
Public serviceAt least one service listed publicly
CredentialAt least one credential on file
EquipmentAt least one piece of equipment assigned (see Fleet)
Flight hoursTotal flight hours recorded
Experience start yearWhen you started flying commercially
Insurance policyAt least one insurance policy on file
A complete profile ranks higher in the directory and gives potential clients more confidence in your capabilities.

Insurance status

Insurance status is computed from dates, not set manually. If the current date is between the effective and expiration dates, the policy shows as Active. Past the expiration date, it shows as Expired. Policies expiring within 30 days show an Expiring Soon warning. You can also manually override the status to Cancelled, Pending, or Suspended for policies that need special handling regardless of dates.

Availability

Control when you are available for bookings and let others see your schedule.

Working hours

Set your working hours for each day of the week. You can define multiple time slots per day (e.g., 8:00-12:00 and 13:00-17:00) and disable days you don’t work. Three schedule views help you visualize your hours: list, grid, and timeline.

Booking preferences

SettingDescription
TimezoneYour local timezone for all scheduling
Minimum noticeHow many hours in advance someone must book (default: 24 hours)
Buffer between bookingsMinutes of padding between back-to-back bookings
Maximum bookings per dayCap on daily bookings (leave blank for unlimited)
Allow direct bookingWhether clients can book you directly or must request

Google Calendar integration

Connect your Google Calendar to sync busy times with your availability. When connected:
  • Your calendar events overlay on your availability schedule
  • Busy times from Google Calendar block those slots automatically
  • The availability API reflects both your working hours and calendar conflicts
To connect, go to Settings and link your Google account. Once connected, toggle Show calendar on profile in the Availability tab to let others see your real-time schedule.

Visibility settings

Control which sections of your profile are visible to others. Each section can be set to one of three visibility levels:
LevelWho can see it
PublicAnyone browsing the directory
Network OnlyOnly people connected to you on the platform
HiddenOnly you (and your organization admins)

You can change visibility for each section independently using the visibility settings dialog on your profile.

Directory listing

Your profile can appear in the public pilot directory, making you discoverable by potential clients. Toggle directory listing on or off from the sidebar. When listed, your directory card shows:
  • Profile photo, name, and headline
  • Location and service area
  • Services you offer (badges)
  • Flight hours and experience
The more complete your profile, the more useful your directory listing. See the completeness checklist above to make sure you are covering all the bases. For managing your organization’s team directory entries, see Team Management. For equipment shown on your profile, see Fleet.

Tips

A complete profile builds trust. Clients checking your directory listing want to see credentials, insurance, equipment, and experience — not blank sections. Aim for 100% completeness before turning on your directory listing.
Expired credentials and insurance policies hurt your credibility. Set calendar reminders for renewal dates, or check the expiration warnings that appear on your Credentials and Insurance tabs.
Insurance and contact info default to Hidden for privacy. If you want clients to see your coverage details or reach you directly, update those sections to Public or Network Only.
Without calendar integration, your availability only reflects your set working hours. Connecting Google Calendar ensures that one-off meetings, personal events, and other commitments block your schedule automatically.
